Rules

bid2build is a public leaderboard. No ads, no keys, no revenue share. You pay to stand above everyone else, and your tower grows one block per dollar. Rank is the bid — nothing else.

How ranking works

• Bids are whole US dollars, from $5 to $999,999, in steps of $1. There are no cents anywhere on the board.
• Taking #1 costs at least $5 more than the current top bid. Paying less still puts you on the board, at whatever rank that bid can take.
• Equal bids keep the order they were placed. The older bid holds the higher rank, so nobody takes a position by matching it.
• A bid already on the board keeps its amount until it is raised or outranked. Nothing decays.

Raising a bid you already hold

• Enter the same URL or @handle again. The new amount must be at least $1 above your current bid, and checkout charges only the difference.
• Nobody else can take your rank by paying that same difference. For them it is a new bid of that size, and a new bid loses every tie.

Today’s board

• Today ranks what you spent in the last 24 hours. Each payment counts for 24 hours from the moment it was paid, then drops off.
• The same payment also adds to your all-time bid, so nothing is spent twice and nothing is wasted.
• Taking today’s #1 costs at least $5 more than the most anyone else has spent inside that window.

What counts as one listing

A listing is keyed by what it points at, not by what you typed. This is what stops one thing holding several ranks at once.

• Query strings and fragments are stripped. Affiliate, referral and tracking URLs resolve to the same listing as the plain link.
• www. and subdomains fold into the registered domain.
• An X @handle and that profile’s URL are one listing, not two.
• On platforms where one host carries many products, the path is part of the key, so separate products never share a bid: apps.apple.com, itunes.apple.com, play.google.com, github.com, gitlab.com, chromewebstore.google.com, chrome.google.com, marketplace.visualstudio.com and similar.
• A listing with no link is keyed by its own words, ignoring case, spacing and punctuation. “Ship it on Friday” and “ship it on friday!” are one listing, so nobody takes a second rank by retyping yours.

What you can list

• Anything. A website, an X @handle, or just words — a name, a message, a cause. Something with no link still takes a rank; it simply has nothing to click through to.
• Words are limited to 60 characters, and must contain at least one letter or number.
• Chat and invite links are not allowed — t.me, telegram.me, telegram.dog, wa.me, chat.whatsapp.com, discord.gg and similar. A link has to be a destination, not an invitation to a group chat.
• Link shorteners are rejected, not followed: bit.ly, tinyurl.com, t.co, goo.gl, ow.ly, buff.ly and similar. Submit the destination URL.
• Sexual and adult content is not allowed.

After you pay

• A completed payment is what claims the rank. Nothing moves on the board until the payment provider confirms the money arrived.
• Your listing is public. If you submitted a link, clicks go to it with no query string attached.
• Payments are not refundable. You are buying a position on a public board, and it is yours the moment it is paid for.
• Paying means you accept the Terms and the Privacy notice.

These rules are enforced in code, not by hand. The figures above are read from the same module the bidding engine uses, so this page cannot drift from what actually happens when you pay.
